OUR FORMATION AND MISSION
The Heart of the Project
In early 2023, Nikki Haze (bass guitar) and Daniel Lyons (lead guitar) started playing together casually because they just loved music. Soon, Blaze Carver joined them on percussion and was followed shortly by Amy Thorne on keyboards and vocals. At that point, the band was officially called "The Servants". The Servants played around with ideas while writing music as just a serious hobby. Almost two years later, Amy sat in on auditions for a choir and heard Christy sing for the first time. Amy had been wanting to do more backing vocals instead of lead and heard something that she thought was magical in Christy's vocals and instantly knew that Christy would fit in perfectly. Amy approached the band and they all agreed that would be a great move. They brought Christy on board and The Psalm23Project was born.
Our musical journey is shaped by a commitment to authenticity and the desire to build a sanctuary through sound. The Psalm23Project is just that, a Project, that continually evolves to bring Biblical scripture to life through music. We wanted to have a unique sound different from the usual Praise and Worship music. We want to bring emotion and excitement to our listeners without being too heavy and overpowering for them. With punchy bass lines, crunching guitar, along with soaring synthesizers and pure vocals, we have achieved what we like to call Symphonic Metal. Our only mission is to bring glory and praise to our LORD and Savior and exalt His Holy Name. By all odds, we should never exist, but miracles do happen. We are just regular people with regular jobs and regular families doing irregular music.
